Vice Governor Emir Kurtić, Ph.D. Emir Kurtić, Ph.D. has been born on 6 July 1984 in Sarajevo. After finishing elementary and high schools, he graduated from the School of Economics and Business of the University of Sarajevo, banking and insurance course. He finished his postgraduate studies in the field of financial management at the same faculty, where he received his M.Sc. degree in 2011 and Ph.D degree in 2017. His professional interests include corporate management, strategic management, human resources management, organisational coaching and management in sports. Since 2009, Kurtić, Ph.D. has been employed at the School of Economics and Business of the University of Sarajevo, at the Management and Organisation Department, and since 2022, he has gained the status of associate professor. From 2018 until the end of 2024, he was a member of the Management Board of the School of Economics and Business of the University of Sarajevo, performing the functions of Vice-dean for normative issues (2018–2022), and Vice-dean for international cooperation and cooperation with business community (2022–2024). He had previously worked in insurance industry as an underwriter. He is an active consultant with extensive experience in projects of strategic planning, business development and market research, including engagements for the World Bank, engagements in banking sector as well as the UNDP. He also participated in international projects in the fields of European integration and human resources development. Kurtić, Ph.D is also a licensed UEFA A and UEFA A Elite Youth coach. Since 2024, he has been engaged in youth football teams of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He is the president of the Football Club "Academica Sarajevo", which he founded in 2013. Since 2021, he has been managing the representative office of an international company seated in Northern Ireland engaged in analytics and data analysis in sports. He is an author of a number of scientific works and co-author of a book “Business Anatomy“ („Anatomija biznisa“). He participated actively in research on the competitiveness of the region of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region of South East Europe, as well as development of business tools, such as online platforms for generating business plans. Kurtić, Ph.D. is fluent in English and has a high level of informatics literacy The Governing Board of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH), at its last session in 2024 has appointed Emir Kurtić, Ph.D. a Vice Governor of the CBBH, in charge of the Sector of Statistics, Foreign Debt Servicing, European Integration and Payment Systems for a four year long term of office, starting from 1 January 2025.
