Ambassador of Swiss Confederation Visited the CBBH

On September 7, 2015, the Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation, H.E. Heinrich Maurer visited the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH), where he met with the Governor of the CBBH Senad Softić, Ph.D. with whom he discussed aspects of cooperation and activities of Swiss Confederation in various projects in BH in recent years.

The CBBH Governor and Ambassador of Swiss Confederation emphasized the interest for continuation of cooperation that started in 2013 by signing of Bilateral Assistance and Capacity Building Program, which marked the beginning of technical cooperation project for a period of three years (2014 -2016). The program is conducting by the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva. The goal of the program is to provide access to the CBBH technical expertise and international practices in the following areas: monetary policy, financial market development/improvement of foreign exchange reserve management process, statistics and human resources management through training in econometrics, development of financial models, upgrading of the quality of statistical data analysis and improving of the analytical and research capacities.

Governor Senad Softić, Ph.D. and the Ambassador, H.E. Heinrich Maurer, estimated the actual and past cooperation as very successful, resulting, among other things, in a series of workshops in various fields until now. Those workshops have been presented by reputable international lecturers.

The CBBH goal is to continue improving the own operations through various forms of knowledge improvement in the business areas of central banking, therefore, the proposal of the CBBH Governor, Senad Softić, Ph.D. for the extension of the Agreement in 2017 was supported.
