The CBBH Governor Senad Softic Ph.D. talked to the IMF delegation

The Governor of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH) Senad Softić Ph.D., with his associates, talked with the IMF delegation in Sarajevo, today. The delegation was led by the Head of the IMF Mission for Bosnia and Herzegovina Mr Nadeem Ilahi. The IMF Mission is visiting Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to talk with BH authorities about potential arrangements of this financial institution with Bosnia and Herzegovina.

During the discussion, the IMF expressed the strong support to the CBBH commitment to continue the implementation the CBBH monetary policy within the currency board arrangement, and again, it was emphasized the significance of stable monetary policy, representing the foundation of economic policy in Bosnia and Herzegovina and important precondition of the economic growth.

The CBBH Governor informed the IMF delegation about the activities of the CBBH, underlining that the CBBH will adopt the six - years Strategic plan of operations including the strategic objectives too, by the end of the year. Also, there were discussion about the CBBH role in the coordination of the banking supervision and the CBBH engagement in the financial sector as whole.

During the IMF delegation visit in Bosnia and Herzegovina, there will be another several meetings of the CBBH and IMF at the technical level.
