CBBH Governor Talked with British Ambassador to BH 4/5/2016 Tweet The British Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, H.E. Edward Ferguson visited on April 5, 2016, the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH), where he talked with the CBBH Governor, Senad Softić. Governor Softić presented to the Ambassador Ferguson the basic macroeconomic indicators, while special attention was paid to the situation in the financial and banking sector. The Governor stressed that the CBBH has had good cooperation with representatives of the banking sector, expecting to work together intensively on identifying and defining the needs and strengthening the banking sector with the aim of creating a modern and reliable financial system in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Governor also mentioned that the Reform Agenda has been related to the financial sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the part referring to the question of improving banking supervision in accordance with international standards, and in the part where one try to find ways to revive the banking sector in lending sector. “The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina has a coordinating role in the banking supervision in Bosnia and Herzegovina and this role will be intensified in accordance with the legal powers of this institution. It also will be strengthened the coordination role of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina in preserving financial stability through more intensive cooperation in the framework of the Standing Committee for Financial Stability”, the Governor said in the discussion with the British Ambassador. Ambassador Ferguson stressed the importance of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the financial sector and supported its current and future activities.
