Delegation of the DG ECFIN Visited the CBBH 3/6/2017 Tweet March 6, 2017 On 6 March 2017, the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH) was visited by a Delegation of the Directorate General for Economic and Financial Affairs of the European Commission (DG ECFIN), headed by Ms Elena Flores, Director. The visit of the Delegation, which met with the CBBH Governor Senad Softić, Ph. D. and his associates, is in the context of the assessment of the program of economic reforms in BH for the period from 2017 to 2019, and the preparation of proposal of guidelines in the policy areas which will in the final version be adopted on 23 May 2017, at the meeting of members of the European Union (EU) and the Western Balkans countries. Mrs. Flores used her visit to BH in order to obtain information on general economic issues. The CBBH will, according to the Governor's statement, continue its regular activities defined by the CBBH Law. Beside the regular activities, the modernization and upgrade of Gyro Clearing System, the Single Registry of Transaction Accounts and the Central Credit Registry are planned in this year, which enhances transparency in the financial and payment systems, up to date data, prevention of misuses and prevention of money laundering. These activities are in line with the standards and best practices in the region and the EU, and include many benefits for all stakeholders in the financial and economic system of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Governor Softić said. Delegation of the Directorate General for Economic and Financial Affairs of the European Commission was also interested in the economic growth in BH, and also the Currency Board arrangement, issues from the banking sector area, and the inflows of foreign direct investment - whether the fall in 2016 is a reason for concern and which reasons brought about this fall. One of the topics of today's meeting was the statistics related to the data on inflation and the data on government finance.
