The CBBH Governor Attended the Spring Meetings of the IMF and WB in Washington 4/24/2017 Tweet April 24, 2017 From April 21 to 23, 2017, the Governor of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH) Senad Softić, Ph.D. was staying in Washington, where he, as a member of BH Delegation, led by Denis Zvizdić, Chairman of the Council of Ministers, attended the spring meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank (WB). Together with BH officials, Governor Softić attended meetings with senior officials of the IMF and WB. Within the bilateral meetings with the representatives of the IMF, Governor Softić discussed the implementation status of measures from the Letter of Intent concerning the CBBH and the financial sector, including the preparation of a comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding in the area of financial stability. Governor also discussed the implementation of the programs agreed within the framework of technical assistance to the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the support to the banking and financial sector. During all meetings, Governor Softić emphasized the importance of the CBBH independence as the unique monetary authority and its role in maintaining of monetary and financial stability. The IMF has given support to the CBBH and its role in the financial system. The last day, Governor also met with Paul Thomsen, Director of the Department for Europe in the International Monetary Fund. In Washington, the Governor attended a meeting of Central Bank Governors and Finance Ministers, where the Regional Economic Report for the countries of Central and Southeastern Europe was presented and within it, the data for Bosnia and Herzegovina. Together with other members of the BH Delegation, the Governor attended a meeting of the Dutch Constituency, to which Bosnia and Herzegovina belongs. As usual the meeting addressed the situation in the Constituency member countries.
