Position of the CBBH Governing Board on the Current Appointments in the CBBH

In reference to the statements of certain media and incorrect allegations related to the mandate of the appointed person in the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH), we hereby inform the public that at the session of the CBBH Governing Board, held on August 10, 2021, it was  considered the information on the mandate's expiration of the CBBH appointed persons, including the Vice Governor in charge of the Sector for Monetary Operations, Foreign Exchange Reserves and Cash Management, and that it was concluded to continue consultations regarding the appointment of a new Vice Governor. Consultations are ongoing, and the appointment of the Vice Governor of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina in charge of the Sector for Monetary Operations, Foreign Exchange Reserves and Cash Management is expected soon.

Milica Lakić performed the function of the CBBH Vice Governor during the four-year mandate from August 11, 2017 until August 10, 2021, and the mandate of this appointed person expired on the specified date.

All processes and activities within the competence of the Sector for Monetary Operations, Foreign Exchange Reserves and Cash Management run smoothly and have been organized on the basis of given authorizations, in accordance with applicable procedures in the CBBH and with the approval of the CBBH Governing Board, passed at the session, held on August 10, 2021. Replacements are organized in the same way as in the absence of any other appointed person in the CBBH. This is how the replacements of Milica Lakić were organized in the past, ,too,  who was absent for over 300 working days on various grounds during her four-year mandate.

The CBBH will timely inform the public about the appointments of the Vice Governor in charge of the Sector for Monetary Operations, Foreign Exchange Reserves and Cash Management, the Director of the Main Bank of the Republika Srpska of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina and other appointed persons in accordance with the mandates' expiration.
