Governor and the Management members had talks with the IMF delegation

On March 22, 2022, the Governor of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH), Senad Softić, Ph.D., hosted the new Head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Mission for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mrs. Alina Lanca.

During the conversation, Governor Softić informed the IMF delegation about the activities of the CBBH, emphasizing that the CBBH is continuously working on fulfilling its legal mandate and implementing its strategic goals. The CBBH pointed out the maintenance of monetary stability in BH, achieved through the currency board arrangement, which is the greatest contribution in the situation of the pandemic crisis and the current geopolitical situation. The IMF representatives expressed the full support to these activities.

The IMF delegation also discussed economic and financial trends, reforms of the banking sector, stability of the financial system, the implementation of the mission's recommendations from Safeguards assessment, and implementation of other technical cooperation programs between the IMF and the CBBH. The discussion pointed out the quality of banking coordination and the need to continue maintaining cooperation at the level of the Standing Committee on Financial Stability of BH.

In addition to the Head of the Mission to BH, the meeting with the delegation of the IMF Mission was attended by the Resident Representative of the IMF in BH, Andrew Jewell, and other members of the IMF delegation and representatives of the CBBH Management.
