From now, financial education also carried out in the CBBH Brčko Branch

2/20/2023

This year, the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina continues to promote, through target educational activities, the significance of financial education and inclusion, especially for young people in Bosnia and Herzegovina, trying to address various issues important for financial literacy, in a creative, competent and simple way. One of the ways of implementing educational activities in the previous period was the project of cooperation and training of teaching staff to provide financial education in high schools, as a non-mandatory educational activity. It is aimed at creating the best practices, through common experiences, which would in the future help introduction of financial education in school curriculum.

The implementation of financial education project, which started in high schools in Sarajevo, is being expanded by the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with European Fund for Southeast Europe – Development Facility (EFSE DF) to the Main Units and Branches. Thus, on 16 February 2023, in the Brčko Branch of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, education was held for professors of JU Ekonomska škola Brčko (PI High School of Economics Brčko) which showed interest to participate in this project and accepted the invitation of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina. We would like to thank the JU Ekonomska škola Brčko (PI High School of Economics Brčko) that recognized the importance of financial education of young people, and for participating in the education and accepting the obligation to educate their students on the skills of managing personal finance and financial services and products, who will transfer such knowledge to their peer groups.

Only people with developed financial awareness can make rational financial decisions and thus contribute to additional stability of the entire system.
