„Central Banking“ Award for the CBBH 6/14/2023 Tweet Governor of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH), Senad Softić, Ph.D., attended the official event „Central Banking Summer Meetings“ which was held in London on 13 June 2023. On that occasion, he received the award which the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina had won in the category “Transparency“. The award ceremony is organised by the “Central Banking“, a media agency which was established in 1990 and based in the United Kingdom. It issues Central Banking Journal, numerous expert literature, gives prestigious annual awards „Central Banking Awards“ and is a host to professional and educational meetings and conferences for central bankers and representatives of other financial institutions. It covers the operations of central banks and financial regulators in more than 120 countries in the world, for more than a quarter of the century. We can proudly say that the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina is among the 2023 winners, having been awarded for strengthening integrity and introduction of Ethical line as an independent anticorruption tool, as well as for strengthening communication with the public, which is not a frequent practice among public sector institutions. Governor Softić On that occasion, Governor said: “Transparency and confidence in the Central Bank work are very important for us, as it additionally strengthens the Central Bank’s position of an independent institution, determined to be always guided in work by expertise, in the interest of the citizens and the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In a complex institutional arrangement of our country, the Central Bank has an additional responsibility to work harder on providing monetary stability and be an example of a strong, transparent, reliable institution, enjoying complete confidence of all citizens. Therefore, I would like to thank the Central Banking for recognizing and awarding our efforts. I assure you that we will continue to strengthen our capacities in the interest of our economy and our citizens in the future. This prestigious award is given in 26 categories, 13 for central banks and 13 for financial market participants.
