World Savings Day Was Celebrated in All Units and Branches of the CBBH 10/31/2023 Tweet On the occasion of World Savings Day, which is celebrated every year on October 31, primary and secondary school students visited the Main Units and Branches of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH) in Sarajevo, Mostar, Banja Luka, Brčko and Pale, with appropriate educational activities marking this day. The students of the Sarajevo Elementary School "Hasan Kikić" were also greeted by the Governor of the CBBH, Senad Softić, Ph.D., who pointed out the importance and value of safe finances and savings for tomorrow. "The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina makes sure that the value of your savings in convertible marks is always safe," the Governor told the children. During the visit, a presentation called "Little School of Money" was held for elementary school students, and a presentation about the role and importance of the CBBH, and the importance of savings was held for high school students. This year, as part of the World Savings Day, the CBBH hosted more than three hundred students and teachers of primary and secondary schools throughout BH: Primary Schools "Edhem Mulabdić", "Grbavica II" and "Hasan Kikić" from Sarajevo, Primary School " Silvije Strahimir Kranjčević" from Mostar, Primary Schools "Jovan Dučić" and "Stanko Rakita" from Banjaluka, First Primary School of BH Brčko District, Primary School "Pale" from Pale and Mixed High School from Čelić. All this with the aim of creating and raising awareness on the importance of smart money management and the importance of savings from the earliest life age. The presentations held contribute to a better understanding of the basics of central banking in the context of the CBBH's role in preserving the stability of the convertible mark, as a currency in which young people mostly save their first money.
