Governor Kozaric Elected as Deputy Chairman of the Central Banks’ Governors’ Club

Governor of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH) Kemal Kozarić was elected as Deputy Chairman of the Central Banks’ Governors’ Club of Central Asia, Black Sea region and the Balkans countries for the period 2007 – 2008.

The selection was performed during the latest, 16th Meeting of the Governors’ Club which was held from September 1 until September 4 in the Russian city of Irkutsk.

The Governors’ Club has been established in 1999; it has 16 member countries and it meets twice during a year. Items of discussion during the meetings are mostly activities of central banks and economic situation in countries which are members of the Club, as well as current events on the world’s economic market. The Governors’ Club also organizes seminars for employees of central banks once a year.

Governor Kozarić considers his election as Deputy Chairman of this Club, a function which he will perform for the next two years, as an exceptional honor for him and for the CBBH in general.

Bosnia and Herzegovina will be the host of one of future meetings of the Governors’ Club, most probably in 2008.
