British Ambassador in BH has Visited the CBBH 2/6/2024 Tweet The independence of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH) and preserving of the currency board arrangement are crucial for its functioning and for the country's monetary stability, as jointly concluded by the British Ambassador in BH, H.E. Julian Reilly and Governor of the CBBH, Jasmina Selimović, Ph.D., during their meeting held in the Bank premises. In conversation with British Ambassador, Governor Selimović stressed that the currency stability, achieved due to currency board, together with monetary stability, has contributed to the country's financial stability. Governor pointed out the current and future activities of the CBBH, and she particularly stressed the positive financial results recorded by the CBBH due to the timely and quite successful restructuring of the foreign exchange reserve portfolio in accordance with policy changes in the euro area. The CBBH will continue to work in accordance with its mandate and introduce the best European practices in its work processes, Governor Selimović said. British Ambassador in BH, H.E. Julian Reilly and Governor of the CBBH, Jasmina Selimović, Ph.D. British Ambassador congratulated Selimović, Ph.D, for her appointment and supported the CBBH work: „A stable currency is a guarantee of macroeconomic stability and economic safety of Bosnia and Herzegovina and therefore, the United Kingdom strongly supports the independence, integrity and credibility of the CBBH and its objective to preserve the stability of convertible mark.” British Ambassador has suggested the consideration of opening new fields of cooperation between the CBBH and the Bank of England in the central banking area, which the Governor agreed with, pointing out that international institutional cooperation through joint projects, training and exchange of experiences and knowledge is essential for further progress of the CBBH. Taking into account the level of investments in BH, the United Kingdom is one of the leading investors, mainly investing in the production of electric energy, services, mining and manufacturing industry.
