Continuation of cooperation with the World Bank 2/27/2024 Tweet Governor of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH), Jasmina Selimović, Ph.D. and the World Bank Country Manager for Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro Mr. Christopher Sheldon discussed the continuation of cooperation through the assistance provided by the World Bank to the CBBH. The meeting addressed the previous technical support activities in the area of monitoring and modernization of payment systems, improvement of payment infrastructure, financial education and inclusion, and strengthening of CBBH's analytical capacities. The World Bank expressed its readiness to continue supporting the CBBH, with special focus on the implementation of the agenda for the modernization of payment systems in the countries of the Western Balkans (WB6), which aims to prepare the region for joining the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA). Governor Selimović thanked for the support, pointing out the importance of further bringing BH into line with European Union standards in the area of payment systems, which will enable new financial technologies on the market, better financial inclusion of citizens and cheaper cashless cross-border transfers for individuals and legal entities. The World Bank Country Manager for Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro Mr. Christopher Sheldon emphasized his determination to continue further cooperation and wished Governor Selimović success in her future work.
