Vice Governor of the CBBH, Marko Vidaković, M.Sc. at Central Banking Summer Meetings 2024 6/19/2024 Tweet Vice Governor of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH) Marko Vidaković, M.Sc. participated in the conference ”Central Banking Summer Meetings“ which was held on 12 and 13 June 2024, in London. Representatives of more than 100 central banks and financial regulators from entire world gathered at the meetings, and the issues discussed were related to the foreign exchange reserve management, sustainable finance, innovations and payments. A special focus was on the challenges which central banks and financial regulators are facing with regard to future inflation trends, increased geopolitical risks, climate changes and digitalisation in the process of foreign exchange reserve management. In the margins of the conference, Vice Governor Vidaković talked to this year's winner of the highest level award - „Central Banking Award 2024“ for lifetime achievement, Masaaki Shirakawa. Mr Shirakawa, during his extraordinary career, has performed various functions, including that of Vice Chairman of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) and Governor of the Bank of Japan. He was the head of the Bank of Japan in a very turbulent period, during the 2008 global financial crisis and during the big earthquake that took place in Japan in 2011. Vice Governor also attended the ceremony „Central Banking Awards 2024“. The awards are presented in several central banking categories including transparency, which was won by the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH) in 2023. This was also an excellent opportunity to thank Michelle Godwin, Global Brand Director of Central Banking for the previous cooperation, which was estimated as very good, and which would be continued at even a higher level to mutual satisfaction. During his stay in London, Vice Governor Vidaković also visited the Bank of England, where he discussed improvement of cooperation between the Bank of England and the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the representatives of the BoE.
