The CBBH introduces a single fee for performing payment transactions 10/8/2024 Tweet The Governing Board of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted, at its last session, the Decision on amandments to the Decision on determining the fee tariff for services provided by the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This Decision introduces a single fee for performing payment transactions in the giro-clearing system and real-time gross settlement, RTGS. With the new changes, the fee for performing payment transactions for participants in the giro clearing system amounts to KM 0.26 per transaction (regardless of settlement during the day), and for performing payment transactions for participants in the RTGS it amounts to KM 2.05 per transaction. "This Decision aims to speed up payment transactions, standardize the costs of payment transactions, enable easier cost management and simplified calculation of fees for payment transactions," said the Governor of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Jasmina Selimović, Ph.D.. The amount of the single fee that has been established is lower than the current average value of the amount of fees, and its introduction enables commercial banks in Bosnia and Herzegovina to have a uniform treatment, regardless of the time interval of settlement of interbank transactions. This Decision of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina was welcomed by the Association of Banks of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which thanked the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Governor Selimović for their understanding of market opportunities and willingness to improve the business environment together in the interest of all citizens and businessmen. "We believe that this measure will contribute to greater transparency and efficiency in payment transactions and enable banks to manage costs more easily and, at the same time, improve the efficiency and quality of the services they offer to their clients," said Edis Ražanica, Director of the Association of Banks of Bosnia and Herzegovina. With the aim of stimulating depositors of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina to use electronic banking, the Decision on Amendments to the Decision on determining the fee tariff for Services Provided by the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina also changes the fee tariff for operations with depositors in the part that refers to the use of electronic banking. The Decision enters into force on the eighth day after its publication in the "Official Gazette of Bosnia and Herzegovina", and it will be applied from November 1, 2024.
