Sports Tournament of the Regional Central Banks Completed

On Saturday, June 24, 2006, the Second Sports Tournament of the regional Central Banks/National Banks completed, with the handing of cups and diplomas. The host of this tournament was the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH).

Along with team of the CBBH, the following ten Central Banks’/National Banks' teams took part: of Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Hungary, Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia and Turkey.

All competitions took place in Sarajevo sports hall "Zetra" and they were run in four disciplines: volleyball, table tennis, indoor football and basketball.

The best results in table tennis – individually men were won by representative of National Bank of Romania, and women individually – the representative of National Bank of Serbia. The first place in table tennis - men in team was won by Central Bank of Hungary, and for women Central Bank of Montenegro.

Men team of National Bank of Serbia and women team of Bank of Albania won the first places in volleyball. The best in basketball was men team of National Bank of Romania and for indoor football the team of National Bank of Serbia. The cup for fair play was awarded to the team of Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey.

The CBBH had the following results in these tournaments: second place in table tennis - individually men, second place in table tennis – individually women, third place in table tennis - men in team, third place in table tennis – women team, second place in volley ball - men, third place volleyball women and second place - indoor football.

National Bank of Serbia initiated this kind of sports gathering, last year, as one of the ways to improve and extend the cooperation at the Central Bank/National Bank level in the Region. Next year, the Sports Tournament of Central Banks/National Banks will take place in Greece.
