CBBH reminds on deadlines for exchanging KM banknotes issued from 1998 to 2009 10/27/2025 Tweet The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH) reminds on the deadlines for exchanging convertible mark banknotes in denominations of 10 KM, 20 KM, 50 KM and 100 KM issued in the period from 1998 to 2009, which were withdrawn from circulation and ceased to be legal tender on 31 December 2024 (Decision on the withdrawal from circulation of banknotes in denominations of 10, 20, 50 and 100 convertible marks issued in the period from 1998 to 2009, Official Gazette of BH, 27/24). The exchange of the above-mentioned banknotes, after they have ceased to be legal tender, will be carried out by commercial banks in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2025, ending on December 31, 2025. Citizens who own these banknotes are invited to exchange them in commercial banks by December 31, 2025, as commercial banks have a wide business network that is available throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina. After the expiration of the exchange deadline in commercial banks, the exchange will be carried out by the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina at locations in Sarajevo, at Maršala Tita 25, and Banja Luka, at Vidovdanska 19, within 10 years period, starting on January 1, 2026, ending on December 31, 2035. The Central Bank will publish an act by the end of the year that will regulate the exchange procedure for banknotes at the Central Bank from 2026, which will be announced to the public.
