Governor Selimović met with Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the USA in BH, Mr. John Ginkel

The Governor of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Jasmina Selimović, Ph.D., had a meeting with  Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the United States of America in BH, Mr. John Ginkel.

During the meeting, the years long partnership between the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the institutions of the United States of America was pointed out, particularly in the process of financial sector reforms in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

On this occasion, Governor Selimović presented the current macroeconomic projections for Bosnia and Herzegovina, stressing that, despite global challenges, the domestic economy is showing resilience due to the stable monetary framework and credible currency board policy.

Governor Selimović emphasized that the currency board, which forms the basis of the monetary system of Bosnia and Herzegovina, is a key pillar of macroeconomic stability and confidence in the domestic currency. Preserving the independence of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina remains a key priority, the interlocutors concluded. 

Mr. Ginkel commended the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina for its consistency in implementing the currency board policy and its transparent approach to the public, and emphasized the readiness of the U.S. Embassy to continue supporting initiatives that contribute to strengthening the financial system and economic development of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
