This exceptional award was given to the Central Bank for its comprehensive and strategic approach to strengthening the resilience of the financial system of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This recognition is confirmation that during 2025 the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina successfully implemented reform and development activities that have long-term significance for preserving financial stability, improving institutional resilience and supporting sustainable economic growth. The explanation of the award highlights the complexity of the environment in which the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina operates, and its ability to, as one of the truly strong and independent state institutions, bring together relevant actors with its credibility and initiate important changes. Among the key activities that have been recognized are the completion of the regulatory framework harmonized with the standards of the European Union as part of the preparations for Bosnia and Herzegovina's accession to the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA), the development of the instant payment system through the TIPS Clone project in cooperation with the Bank of Italy, as well as the strengthening of the cyber resilience of the financial sector through the establishment of mechanisms for the exchange of information on cyber risks and incidents. Particular emphasis was placed on the steps made by the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the area of sustainable finance, primarily the activities of including climate risks into the macroprudential framework, as well as initiatives focused on financial inclusion and gender equality, as well as reforms in the area of cash operations and improvements in the design of convertible mark banknotes. In addition, an important segment of the overall approach is continuous work on promoting financial education, with the aim of long-term strengthening of the resilience of society and economy. Regarding the award, Governor Jasmina Selimović, Ph.D. said: "We are pushing the boundaries, by strengthening our payment system, cyber resilience, gender inclusiveness and other structural reforms, we continue to strengthen institutional resilience and support Bosnia and Herzegovina's economic growth, even in a complex operational environment." In the coming period, the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina will continue to carry out activities aimed at preserving monetary and financial stability, improving institutional capacities and increasing public confidence in the financial system of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
