Record inflow of current transfers in 2025 3/24/2026 Tweet According to data from the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH), a record level of current transfers was achieved in 2025, reaching the amount of KM 5.92 billion. This result confirms the continuous growth of the funds inflow from abroad and their increasing importance for the economy of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Of the total amount of current transfers, KM 4.46 billion is related to personal transfers, that is, remittances from abroad, while other current transfers amount to KM 1.46 billion. Compared to the previous year, total current transfers increased by approximately KM 230 million, while remittances recorded an even more evident growth of around KM 290 million. At the same time, other current transfers recorded a slight decrease of around KM 63 million. These data clearly indicate the exceptional importance of the diaspora and the inflow of funds from abroad for the domestic economy. Remittances are significant source of income for a large number of households, they contribute to increasing consumption, reducing social differences and preserving the citizens life standard. In addition to the social aspect, the stable growth of current transfers has a broader macroeconomic significance, including the strengthening of foreign exchange reserves, the stability of the balance of payments and support for the overall financial stability of the country. With regard to global economic challenges, the continuous growth of these inflows further emphasizes the resilience of Bosnia and Herzegovina's economic ties with its diaspora, as well as the need to create policies that will further strengthen confidence and encourage further investments and financial flows from abroad.
