Medallion dedicated to Bosnia and Herzegovina's participation in the World Cup

6/12/2026

The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina has presented the conceptual design of a commemorative medallion dedicated to Bosnia and Herzegovina's participation in the World Cup, an event that has awakened a special emotion, pride and sense of community among the citizens of our country.

The medallion is a lasting memory of one of the most important sports moments for Bosnia and Herzegovina and a symbol of the values that sport carries in its most beautiful form: belonging, persistence, togetherness and faith in success. At the time when the name of Bosnia and Herzegovina is presented on the world stage, this edition aims to preserve the memory of the emotion that brings together citizens, fans and all those who carry Bosnia and Herzegovina in their hearts.

The commemorative edition is part of the activities by which the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina marks events of special importance for Bosnia and Herzegovina through numismatic editions, with the aim of preserving their historical, cultural and social significance for present and future generations.

The Governor of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Jasmina Selimović Ph.D., pointed out:

"Bosnia and Herzegovina's participation in the World Cup is one of those moments beyond a sports result. These are the moments when the flag of our country is carried with special pride, and the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina and our diaspora, wherever they are, gather around the same sense of belonging, hope and togetherness.

The medallion is designed as a symbol of pride, with motifs reflecting the strength, dignity and belonging to Bosnia and Herzegovina. Its design combines the solemn character of this historic appearance and the everlasting value of a numismatic edition that remains a memory for generations to come.

I believe that this medallion will be more than a memory. It will be a permanent symbol of a significant moment, an emotion that connected us and the power of sport to inspire, unite and remind us how important it is to celebrate the successes of Bosnia and Herzegovina together.“

Through its motifs, the conceptual design of the medallion connects the sports success and state symbols of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the aim of remaining a permanent numismatic record of a moment that united the citizens of our country.

The medallion will be available for purchase at the end of the year, and more details on how to apply and purchase it will be published via the official website www.cbbh.ba and communication channels of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
