Vice Governor Vladušic Appointed to the Governing Board of the Deposit Insurance Agency of BH

At the first session in this year, which was held on Wednesday, January 26, 2005 in Sarajevo, the Governing Board of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH) has appointed CBBH Vice Governor Ljubiša Vladušić to the Governing Board of the BH Deposit Insurance Agency.

Newly appointed Governor of the CBBH Kemal Kozarić will remain a member of the Governing Board of the BH Deposit Insurance Agency, but since he assumed the duty of the Governor, he became the ex-officio member of this Board. This means that the membership of the former Governor Peter Nicholl in the Governing Board of the State Deposit Insurance Agency ended.

Namely, according to the Law on Deposit Insurance, Governor of the CBBH is the ex-officio member of the Governing Board of the Deposit Insurance Agency, while the other member of this Board is appointed by the CBBH Governing Board.

At the yesterday's session, the CBBH Governing Board adopted also the CBBH's Plan of Activities for 2005. The Plan of Activities sets out the key principles which determine the CBBH's operations. According to those principles, the continuation of the Currency Board Arrangement remains the main priority of the CBBH.

The Plan of Activities also sets that the CBBH has to aim at improvement of the financial and economic reporting and follow up with the reporting standards in order to obtain quality information and analysis and that the CBBH has to have the active role in continuation of the financial sector reforms.

At the Session of the CBBH Governing Board, the information was adopted on the procedures for the passing of amendments on the CBBH Law and the Governing Board was informed on the situation regarding the amendments which are related to the banking supervision.
