The CD With Suspicious Data on Bank Accounts in BH in Circulation

12/2/2004

The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH) warns all commercial banks, legal entities and citizens that a CD with suspicious data on bank accounts in BH is in circulation. The CD claims to be a Registry of giro-accounts in BH, but the information is not complete and much of it is out-dated.

Namely, over the last several days, banks and other legal entities received the CD entitled "Registry of BH giro accounts" without enclosed documentation, with the wrong address, and the supposed producer and distributor is the Economic-Information Institution.

Since the mentioned producer is not located on the address printed on the CD cover, telephone directory or Registry which is on the CD, the CBBH informs all those who have received this CD that this is the suspicious shipment. The CD contains the list of BH legal entities with incomplete information.

The only complete Registry of bank accounts holders is in the CBBH. It is available to certain institutions including the banks that update the contents of the Registry on everyday basis.

The CBBH warns all institutions, especially banks to be careful if they have this CD.
