The Association of Banks Of BH Supports the Banking Supervision Within the CBBH

The Association of Banks of BH fully supports the project which will bring the banking supervision within of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH).

During the today's meeting with the CBBH Governor Peter Nicholl and his associates as well as with representatives of Banking Agencies from both entities, representatives of the Association of Banks of BH, led by Association Chairman Mirsad Letić, stated that they want the banking supervision within the CBBH as soon as possible.

During the today's meeting there was also a discussion on the issue of storage, transfer and transport of cash, having in mind frequent bank robberies and stealing of larger amounts of cash which has occurred lately.

The agreement was made to establish the Working Group which will feature representatives of the CBBH, Association of Banks of BH, commercial banks, Banking Agencies from both entities and Ministries of Internal Affairs from both entities in order to discuss the issue of transport and protection of cash. For that purpose, presentation of the new safety mechanisms, which banks could use, will be held.

There was also a discussion on introduction of the new elements into the payments system, which could be discussed by the Payments Council of BH.
