Kozaric Meets With Reinermann

Vice Governor of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH) Kemal Kozarić and Director of Resident Office of the World Bank in BH Dirk Reinermann have met today, August 31, 2004, in the Office of the World Bank in Sarajevo in order to discuss the ongoing activities of the CBBH, as well as the planned activities of the World Bank in BH for the next three years.

Vice Governor Kozarić informed Director of Resident Office of the World Bank on the activities which the CBBH is conducting on takeover of the banking supervision, as well as on future steps related to the realization of the project of the Single Registry of Transaction Accounts in BH.

Dirk Reinermann stated that BH no longer has the status of the post-conflicts country, and it is now being treated as the transition country, where the process of reforms should be directed towards achieving of the credit ability of country. Regarding that, special attention in the next three years will be directed towards the corporate restructuring and completing of the privatization process in BH.

The issue of corporate restructuring is important for the CBBH from the point of maintenance of the macroeconomic stability, as well as one of issues in negotiations about signing of the new Stand-By Arrangement with the International Monetary Fund.

Cooperation between the CBBH and World Bank in BH will continue at the level of expert teams, in order to provide better coordination in realization of future tasks and completing of reform processes in BH.
