The Single Registry of Bank Accounts as of July 5

The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH) informs that the Single Registry of bank accounts will become operational as of Monday, July 5, 2004.

By that date, the first phase of the establishing of the Registry will be completed and information will be available to the commercial banks. Statement from the Single Register could be obtained by others by sending a written request to one of the CBBH Main Units, including 5 KM commission payment.

As the part of the second phase, which will follow 60 days after commencing of the first operations of the Registry, transactional accounts of citizens will be included.

It is planned that the third phase will be completed by the end of this year and it will make possible certain institutions (tax administrations, courts, banking agencies) to use the Registry directly. In this phase, the Registry will help combating the money laundering and will serve as the support in the process of forced payment and execution of the court decisions.
