Central Bank of BH is Introducing the Banking and Accounting Information System

The Governing Board of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina has agreed on its session, held on July 24, 2001 in Sarajevo, to accept the offer of Slovenian Company Aster d.o.o. that will be the provider of the software for the implementation of the Banking and Accounting Information System of CBBH. This system will enable the connection of all banking and accounting functions of the Central Bank of BH both in the Main Office and the main units and the branches of the Central Bank. The project is partly financed by the donation of the USAID.
The Governing Board agreed with recommendation of the Expert Team, in charge of running and implementing the project and accepted Aster d.o.o. as the best bidder out of 5 foreign and local firms which applied to the international tender in April 2001. IMF advisor John Dalton assisted the CBBH Expert Team during the early stage of the selection.
Slovenian company Aster d.o.o. presented and proved that it has the high quality software that has been successfully applied by its clients. Aster d.o.o. accepted the request of the Central Bank of BH to establish the local company Aster BH and hire the local staff, who will assist in implementation of the Banking and Accounting Information System Project of the CBBH.
The implementation of the project should start on August 15,2001 and the basic software would be operational by the end of the year. The whole project should be completed until the end of April 2002.
