Signed the Temporary Contracts for Acceptance, Storage and Issuing of the Cash

The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina signed today (December 29, 2000) in Sarajevo three temporary contracts with the BH Federation Payment Bureau, Mostar Main Branch of the BH Federation Payment Bureau and with the Payment Bureau of Republic of Srpska for acceptance, storage and issuing of cash. The contracts are of the temporary character, concluded for two months, the period in which it is to expected to finish the transformation of the payments bureau into the agencies for treasury services. This transformation is finished so far, only in the Mostar Main Branch of BH Federation Payment Bureau, but the other two cases are currently at the court for registration.
By this two months contract it is regulated the use of 15 individual treasuries for the storage of the CBBH cash, which are located in Prijedor, Banja Luka, Doboj, Bijeljina, Sokolac, Trebinje, Mostar, Široki Brijeg, Livno, Novi Travnik, Bihac, Zenica, Tuzla, Gorazde and Sarajevo. The question of storage of the cash in Brcko District will be solved during the January in co-operation with the District Government.
If in the next two months, the payments bureaus are not transformed into Agencies for treasury and other services, the Central Bank of BH can use its right to chose another agent, i.e. to select the commercial bank, according to already collected offers.
