Training for Gyro Clearing

On October 25 2000 in Sarajevo, Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina organized presentation of gyro clearing. The presentation was performed by the representatives of Halcom company from Ljubljana, that in tender from August this year gained the job in equipping with the computers and software the CBBH in order to perform clearing operations.

This presentation, which was of educative and informative character, was attended by almost all banks in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Halcom representatives were talking about the concept and technical implementation of gyro clearing after the transfer of the internal payments system from the payments bureaus into commercial banks in January 2001. They also explained technical processing of the large volume of small value payments. Listing its advantages, they pointed out that, among other things, this system provides confidentiality, integrity and authentication, with full proof against data loss or duplication.

This is the presentation, in the range of ones, which with a number of the seminars, was organized by the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in order to educate local bankers, financial officers and business community within the preparations for the transfer of internal payments system from payments bureaus into commercial banks.
