Journalists Asked to Leave the Internal Meeting of the NBBH Staff

Members of the Sarajevo news media were kindly asked to leave the main conference hall of the CBBH on Wednesday 17th of June, by the liquidator of the National Bank, Mr. William Dudley, after they had made unauthorized entrance to a private staff meeting of the NBBH. The Governor of the CBBH, Mr. Peter Nicholl, says uninvited journalists were in no way treated disrespectfully, and that the CBBH maintains a high regard and the utmost esteem for the democratic principles of freedom of information and the press. This however, precludes the public dissemination of confidential information revealed at closed staff meetings. The CBBH has been, and will continue to be very open with the press, but the meeting on Wednesday was a confidential staff meeting of the NBBH, not the CBBH. The Governor attended the meeting upon the invitation of the liquidator.
