Pack your bags, but don't forget your KM! Starting today, changing your KM in Austria, Germany or Switzerland is just as easy as here at home. The Governor of the Central Bank of Bosnia & Herzegovina, (CBBH), Mr. Peter Nicholl, is pleased to remind citizens of BiH as well as international workers that Bank Austria/Creditanstalt, Raiffeisen Zentralbank, Dresdner Bank AG, and CREDIT SUISSE will all change your KM into local currency at their branches beginning today, April 1, 1999.

The CBBH wishes to point out the specific branches and conditions so that people will be fully prepared.

1. Bank Austria/Creditanstalt (VIENNA ONLY) Bank Austria will change KM into Schilling or sell KM, but has imposed a daily counter limit of 2000 KM per person.
a. Vienna Airport
b. St. Stephens Platz
c. West Bahnhof

2. Raiffeisen Zentralbank AG (VIENNA, GRAZ-Styria, SALZBURG) Raiffeisen Zentralbank AG has set no limits, and will change your KM for Schilling at three locations in Vienna, and any Raiffeisen Zentralbank branch in Graz-Styria and Salzburg. Graz-Styria and Salzburg will sell KM too, but with 24 hours notice.

c. Vienna, Am Stadtpark 9

3. Dresdner Bank (ALL LOCATIONS IN GERMANY) Dresdner Bank will buy or sell KM at all of their locations, however keep in mind that in smaller branches in smaller towns, a 24 hour notice may be required when BUYING KM because KM may not be in stock.

4. CREDIT SUISSE (Only Zurich & Geneva) No limits on buying or selling KM.

c. Central Geneva, Main Branch

Please keep in mind that NO banks accept coins for change. Although some of these banks charge as little as 1 percent commission, as in Bosnia & Herzegovina, others are free to charge the market rate for their particular country which can range between 3 and 8 percent.
