Replacement of Damaged or Worn Out Banknotes

Public and private businesses & commercial banks in Bosnia and Herzegovina are reminded that KM bank notes that are worn or damaged can be replaced, FREE OF CHARGE at your area payment bureau. (ZPP, ZAP or SPP) The 2 main conditions for exchange of bank notes include: 1. The bank note must be at least 60% intact 2. One complete serial number The payments bureaus should not be charging any fees associated with the return or exchange of worn or damaged bank notes. Instructions related to these agreements have been sent to the payment bureaus throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina. The CBBH hopes that this advisory will end the practice of public and private businesses as well commercial banks refusing to accept worn or damaged bank notes from the public. The CBBH encourages the exchange of worn and damaged bank notes so that the quality of the KM bank notes on issue can be kept at a high level.
