Foreign Reserves Passed KM 6 Billion

7/17/2007

The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH) wishes to inform the public that foreign reserves have reached KM 6, 04 billion (euro 3, 09 billion, that is, USD 4, 25 billion), which is the largest level of foreign reserves ever recorded.

The foreign reserves growth trend has continued, so since the beginning of the year, foreign reserves have increased by KM 700 million.

The reasons which led to increase of foreign reserves are increased inflow of tourists into Bosnia and Herzegovina, seasonal influence of visits of BH citizens living abroad, as well as the inflow of the assets coming from privatization of large systems in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Foreign reserves are mostly comprised of assets from KM buying and selling and required reserves which commercial banks hold in the CBBH.
