Larger Denominations KM Banknotes in Circulation as of July 27

The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina proudly announces the release of the high denomination bank notes of the Konvertable Marka from the 27th of July 1998.
Available from next week are the 20 KM, 50 KM and 100 KM bank notes. These notes will be released gradually from the various payment bureaus in both entities of Bosnia and Herzegovina and so as a result, may not be immediately available in your area. Customers should discuss with their individual banking institutions the availability in their particular region. Dispersal is not expected to take more than 10 days, and by the second week of August the high denominations of KM should be available in all areas of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The new variations feature the writers, artists and musicians: Federation, Nikola Šop on the 100 KM, Musa Cazim Catic on the 50 KM and Antun Branko Šimic on the 20 KM. The Republika Srpska variations feature Petar Kocic on the 100 KM, Jovan Ducic on the 50 KM and Filip Višnjic on the 20 KM. The higher denominations also feature increased, detailed security elements which make them virtually counterfeit proof. A reminder that although the initial release will be made in respect to entities, RS versions released in Republika Srpska and Federation versions in the Federation, there will be no subsequent segregation of the bank notes, and both versions are and will be valid and legel tender for debts both public and private in all of the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, according to the Law of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
