CBBH Marks Its 10th Anniversary with the Conference

On the occasion of marking of 10th Anniversary, the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH) will organize the Conference of the international character on September 13, 2007. Together with the guests from BH economic, public and political domains, the Conference will be also attended by the large number of guests from abroad.

As a part of the Anniversary marking, Governors from the CBBH, National Bank of Serbia (NBS) and the Central Bank of Montenegro (CBMN), Kemal Kozarić, Radovan Jelašić and Ljubiša Krgović will sign the agreement on clearing of international payments. Signing of this contract will provide easier and cheaper international transactions between countries-signatories. The Project will include countries of the former Yugoslavia, and the final goal is to include all member-countries of the Central European Free Trade Agreement - CEFTA.

The Conference will be opened by the President of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ph.D. Nikola Špirić, and it will be divided in three sessions. During the first session, former CBBH Governors and current CBBH Governor will reflect on past ten years of the CBBH. The Finance and Treasury Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina Dragan Vrankić will the introductory speaker in the second session, which will be focused on the monetary stability in the function of the financial stability. Speakers, featuring on this session are the Member of the Executive Board and Governing Board of the European Central Bank (ECB) Gertrude Tumpel-Gugerell, Head of the International Monetary Fund Mission for Bosnia and Herzegovina Dimitri Demekas, Vice Governor for Financial Stability of the Bank of Sweden Lars Nyberg, and the Former Governor of the National Bank of Croatia Marko Škreb. As the part of the third session, heads of central banks of Albania, Montenegro, Serbia, Romania, Turkey, Greece and Bosnia and Herzegovina will discuss the improvement of mutual cooperation.

On the occasion of its 10th Anniversary, the CBBH has issued the jubilee silver coin and published the Monograph entitled "10 Years of the CBBH".

Note to media representatives: The Conference will be held in the Congress Hall of the "Holiday Inn" Hotel in Sarajevo, starting at 9:30. Signing of the Agreement on Clearing of International Payments and the Press Conference will take place from 14:00 to 14:30 in the "Una" Salon.
