9/26/2007

This continues the trend of the fiscal consolidation recorded in previous periods, during which revenues always grew at the faster pace compared with expenditures, which was shown in the Government Finance Statistics for BH for the first six months of 2007, which was published today by the Central Bank of BH (CBBH), and which includes both BH, both BH entities, BH Brčko District and all the cantons.

The total achieved revenues for the first six months amounted to KM 3.834 million, which is by 14, 9% more compared to the same period of 2006. Out of the total revenues, revenues based on taxes amount to KM 2.211 million or 57, 7%, revenues collected on the basis of social insurance contributions amount to KM 1.320 million or 34, 4%, while the remaining KM 304 million or 7, 9% are related to grants and other revenues.

Current expenditures, together with the net procurement of fixed and other non-financial assets amounted to around KM 3.342 million, which, compared to the same period last year, is higher by KM 424 million, or by 14, 5%. Net procurement of fixed and other non-financial assets over the observed period was by KM 45, 5 million or by 7, 3% higher compared to the same period in 2006, which is the indicator of a small increase of the Government sector investment activities.

Individual fiscal positions at the level of both entities are also in surplus - KM 250 million in BH Federation and KM 140 million in RS. Detailed data and tables are available on the CBBH web page.
