Until The End of This Year the CBBH Will Withdraw KM 1 Banknote From the Circulation

2/28/2008

The Governing Board of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, during the Session which was held on Wednesday, February 27, 2008, made the decision to withdraw KM 1 denomination banknote from the circulation, which is used as the legal tender.

Payment with the KM 1 banknote can be performed until December 31, 2008. After that date, it will no longer be legal tender and the banknotes in this denomination cannot be accepted in circulation for settlement of any form of liabilities.

Commercial banks will continue to accept KM 1 banknotes from January 1 until March 31, 2009. The CBBH will accept the withdrawn banknotes from commercial banks through its dislocated vaults.

The reason for this withdrawal is that KM 1 banknotes were replaced with the sufficient quantity of KM 1 coins, which are already in circulation.
