Adopting of the Law which will improve the investments and business environment in general, as well as the larger degree of cooperation between the state institutions are necessary if we want to achieve faster economic progress - this was the joint assessment made by the members of the Financing and Budget Commission of the House of Representatives of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Parliamentary Assembly and officials of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH).

Today, March 26, 2008, members of the Financing and Budget Commission of the House of Representatives of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Parliamentary Assembly made working visit to the CBBH in order to inform themselves on the work of this institution in the previous period, its experiences and problems, as well as with the vision of the further work, development and solving of the key issues.

During the discussion, it was stated that the CBBH was the stability factor for all aspects of economic life. Fixed exchange rate between KM and Euro, as set by the Law, influenced citizens' trust in commercial banks and the CBBH, but also the trust of investors who find the currency stability as one of important conditions for investing.

The CBBH representatives confirmed once again that there will be no depreciation of the local currency and that even looking from the aspect of events on the European and world market and depreciation of the US Dollar value, the very important fact is that the Euro is the anchor currency for KM.

Members of the Financing and Budget Commission recognized the significance of the credit rating for the country and supported the idea that, besides the agency which assigned credit rating to Bosnia and Herzegovina, a second agency should be hired as well in order to provide the country with another credit rating. As said, better credit rating could be facilitated with signing of the Agreement on Stabilization and Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the European Union.

The CBBH is the first institution which was, within program of visits to state institutions, visited by the members of the Financing and Budget Commission of the House of Representatives of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Parliamentary Assembly, and it was stressed that the CBBH is one of five institutions which had its operations marked as positive by the Office for Auditing of the State Institutions.
