Ambassador of Egypt Visited the CBBH

His Excellency, the Ambassador of the Republic of Egypt Ahmed Khattab visited, today on December 18, 2008, the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH), where he talked with the Governor Kemal Kozarić on the economic situation in BH.

The Ambassador Khattab was especially interested in the effects of world crises on Bosnia and Herzegovina, economic trends and forecasts for 2009, considering the fact that Egypt is an investor in BH.

The Governor pointed out that crisis had the limited influence in the banking sector, when the total 6% deposits decrease was recorded in the overall deposits. Since recently, the trend of deposits return into commercial banks has been recorded, which is evaluated by the Governor Kozarić as the sign that BH citizens recognized the sincere and positive actions of all participants at BH financial market.

The Governor warns at the fact that the world economic crises will reflect on the real sector in BH and points out that the government in BH expects to make its best in order to maintain the adequate level of business activities and work posts.

The Ambassador of Egypt offered the technical assistance of its country Government to the Governor. This assistance would be seen in organization of seminars for the financial sector employees.
