British Ambassador Visited the CBBH

Ambassador of the Great Britain H.E. Mr. Michael Tatham visited the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH) today, on January 5, 2009 and discussed with the CBBH Governor Kemal Kozarić the economic situation in BH.

The British Ambassador emphasized that the Great Britain will continue to support reforms that BH will implement on the path to the Euro-Atlantic integrations. In discussion with Governor Kozarić, he was interested in finding out about the impact of the world financial crises on BH, especially with the reference as to how the banking sector in BH is strong in order to stand pressures caused by the crisis.

Governor Kozarić mentioned the fact that the banking sector successfully responded to the first influences of the crises, but that the real sector of economy will face difficulties. Such difficulties will be mirrored in harder access to the funds for financing of the production related projects. Governor also mentioned measures that the CBBH was undertaken in order to solve crises aftermaths.

Talking about the CBBH activities in this year, Governor emphasized that one of the most important project is the Information Security Management System, whose realization should result in CBBH obtaining ISO 27 001 certificate this year. The experts from the Great Britain provide the important advisory role in this project.

Governor expressed satisfaction with cooperation that the CBBH had last years with companies from the Great Britain.
