Governor of the Central Bank of Luxemburg Visited the CBBH

Today, on March 23, 2009, the Governor of the Central Bank of Luxembourg Yves Mersch visited the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH) where he met with the CBBH Governor Kemal Kozarić Ph.D. and his assistants and they discussed the influence of the global finance and economic crises on two countries, situation in financial, especially in banking sectors and possibilities of cooperation between two monetary institutions.

The Governor of the Central Bank of Luxembourg assessed that cooperation already exists, as well as need for understanding on what is going on in countries of this region, and he sees his visit as review of the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Central Bank of Luxembourg is one the most important partners of the CBBH, considering the existing cooperation related to the CBBH foreign currency reserves management.

During the discussion, Governor Kozarić emphasized measures, which authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted in fighting the economic crises. Also there was discussion on the possibility of cooperation between two monetary institutions in training and education and they agreed about the training of the CBBH employees, first of all in the field of risk management and preparation of financial stability reports.

This very distinguished guest held his presentation for the CBBH employees on global financial crises and role of the central banks.
