Kozaric at Annual Meeting of the EBRD Board of Directors and Governos in London

Governor of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH) Kemal Kozarić, Ph.D. who attends Annual Meeting of Board of Directors and Governors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in London, invited today potential investors to invest in Bosnia and Herzegovina. 

Governor Kozarić as a member of BH Delegation being in London at the Meeting of EBRD Board of Directors and Governors had a presentation about the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and informed potential investors about macroeconomic indicators for the last and economic forecasts for this year.  During presentation as well as at the bilateral meetings, he pointed out the resources of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the investment potentials of the private sector, i.e. small and middle size enterprises, small size food producers, infrastructure, and electric energy resources.

The important message to investors could be the fact that authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina have recently concluded successful negotiations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on new Stand-by Arrangement worth EUR 1. 2 billion. "This arrangement is the possibility for Bosnia and Herzegovina credit rating upgrade as well as for the reducing of the country's credit risk ", emphasized Kozarić 

He added that the continued presence of the international financial institutions, such as the EBRD, European Investment Bank (EIB), IMF, World Bank (WB) and others, is very important for Bosnia and Herzegovina and its development. He also mentioned that Bosnia and Herzegovina is moderately indebted country, fulfilling in time its obligations related to the foreign debt servicing.

"The CBBH will continue to do everything in its power to provide the adequate financial stability", stated Kozarić and announced a possibility of signing the agreements with parent institutions, whose banks operate in BH. These agreements, which will be signed through coordination between the EBRD and the IMF in Bosnia and Herzegovina, will ensure that the banks maintain the same capital ratio and that their business activities in BH remain at the same level as in the past two years.

Kozarić emphasized that Deposit Insurance Agency of BH and EBRD are about to finalize the arrangement which should provide fund in the amount of the EUR 50 million. This fund would serve as the basis for increase of the insured deposits amount to EUR 25,000. Besides that, this arrangement will help to increase trust of citizens into the banking sector of BH, stated the CBBH Governor in London.

The delegation of BH at the Annual Meeting of the EBRD Board of Directors and Governors is led by BH Minister of Foreign Affairs Sven Alkalaj, and the delegation, beside Governor Kozarić, features also the Minister of Finance of Republika Srpska Aleksandar Džombić.
