Data on Microcredit and Saving-Credit Institutions in the Credit Registry

7/2/2009

Starting from this month, micro credit and savings-credit institutions are subject to provide data to the Central Credit Registry of Physical and Legal Entities.

So far, only commercial banks in BH have been subject to delivery of the data on debts of physical and legal entities to the Central Credit Registry, being established in the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH), while the micro credit and savings-credit institutions did that on voluntary basis. Since their operations became the competence of the Entities' Banking Agencies, the micro credit and savings-credit institutions as well as commercial banks have been subject to deliver and to update the data on credit liabilities of clients to the Central Credits Registry.

Leasing companies have not yet been subject to this, but data of all leasing companies' are already placed in the Registry.

The CBBH authorized commercial banks to issue to their clients, either physical or legal entities, the statements from the Credits Registry, which was not the case so far.

Access to the Credits Registry of Physical and Legal Entities was only allowed to the commercial banks in order to check the credit's ability of a client during the proceeding of credit approval. Since the beginning of this month, physical and legal entities can receive the statement on their credit's indebting.

A legal entity can obtain the statement  from the Registry   based on the  application signed by the authorized person and certified by  the seal of the legal entity, while physical  entity, needs to  submit the  copy of  ID along with the  written request.

Commercial banks expressed high interests for this additional option and after   providing the necessary technical requirements, it is to expect that a big number of those will be in position to issue the statements from the Registry to physical and legal entities.
