Governor Kozaric Met With Danish Ambassador In BH

10/22/2009

On October 22, 2009, H.E. Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark Ms. Kirsten Rosenvold Geelan met with the Governor of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH) Kemal Kozarić, Ph.D. and expressed her interests in possibilities of strengthening the economic cooperation between these two countries and stronger investments in BH.

Due to the impact of the global economic crisis, BH records the  decrease of foreign direct  investments, and Denmark, which is not in the group of big investors in BH, is interested in stronger investments, but negative image of BH abroad, as it was said at the meeting, does not contribute to that. The Ambassador also emphasized administration difficulties that investors met during the investing in BH.

Governor Kozarić informed the Danish Ambassador on other impacts of the economic crises on BH and emphasized that BH, beside the decrease of foreign direct investments also records the decrease of GDP, of remittances from abroad, the growth of unemployment, but there are expectations that the effects of the exit from the economic crises, being obvious in the world, will appear in BH as well, during the next year. Several big companies, said the Governor, are going to operate with full capacities and according to some projections, it is expected that the GDP, which is minus 3% in this year, will be 0% or will be in positive zone in the next year.

It was also talked about the possibilities of cooperation, firstly, related to the education of CBBH employees in Denmark.
