On 29 September 2011, the Ambassador of the United Kingdom in Bosnia and Herzegovina H.E. Mr. Nigel Casey visited the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH).  He discussed with Governor Kemal Kozarić, Ph.D. about the influence of the world financial and economic crises on BH, the economic trends and some other issues.

Governor Kozarić presented BH macroeconomic indicators to Ambassador Casey. He emphasized that crises significantly influenced on BH, on the banking and the real sector and that it caused the decrease of investments and increase of unemployment. However, the banking sector in BH has remained liquid and even the increase of the savings in 2011 has been recorded.

Ambassador Casey was also interested in the situation related to the implementation of Stand-by Arrangement with the IMF, Currency Board arrangement and how the delays in establishment of the state government influence on the CBBH and the total economic developments. The Governor emphasized that the situation related to the authorities' establishment has resulted in changes of the BH sovereign rating outlook, as well as impossibility to effect the remaining funds from the Stand-by Arrangement and he expressed the hope that this issue will be solved as soon as possible. The CBBH constantly works on improvement of Bosnia and Herzegovina image abroad, and the sound monetary policy contributes to it, ensuring the security and the certainty for potential investors.

At the end of discussions, the Ambassador and the Governor pointed out so far very good relations between the two institutions and they expressed the mutual readiness for the continuation of the cooperation.
