Deadline for Change of Banknotes Denominated: Fening 50, KM 1 and KM 5

Due to the often inquiries of citizens, the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH) re-inform the public that the Governing Board of the CBBH, at its session held on October 4, 2012, adopted the Decision on replacement of KM banknotes denominated: Fening 50, KM 1 and KM 5 (100-UV-95-12), which were withdrawn from circulation and therefore ceased to be a legal tender.

This Decision was published in the Official Gazette of BH (83/12 dated October 22, 2012), the Official Gazette of Federation of BH (103/12 dated December 3, 2012), the Official Gazette of RS (97/12 dated October 19, 2012) and the Official Gazette of Brčko District of BH (43/12 dated October 22, 2012), and thus become mandatory for all commercial banks in BH.

In order to ensure the implementation of the mentioned decision, the CBBH reminded the commercial banks on their obligation by sending them the urgent note.

For the citizens who own these banknotes, the commercial banks will carry out the change of these banknotes in period 1 November 2012 through 31 December 2017. The CBBH will be successively receiving the withdrawn banknotes from commercial banks via its field vaults, but no longer than 31 March 2018.

 

The CBBH reminds the citizens that the banknotes of Fening 50 denomination were withdrawn from circulation on 31 March 2003, the banknotes of KM 1 denomination were  withdrawn on 31 March 2009, and the banknotes of KM 5 denomination were withdrawn on 31 March 2010.
