Statistical Data For Sector of Other BH Financial Institutions Are Published 11/7/2013 Tweet The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH) has published consolidated statistical data for the Sector of Other Financial Institutions, which includes non-banking financial institutions engaged in financial intermediation while supporting the various segments of the financial system operations.The total assets/liabilities of the OFI sector in BH, in June 2013, amounted to KM 3.68 billion and decreased by KM 34.9 million or 0.9% compared to the end of 2012, and decreased by KM 50.9 million or 1.37% compared to June 2012. The largest share in the assets of the OFI sector have the insurance companies, with the assets of KM 1.27 billion or with a share of 34.6%, followed by the leasing companies with the assets of KM 856.8 million or with a share of 23.3%, the investments funds with the assets of KM 792.5 million or with a share of 21.5%, microcredit institutions with the assets of KM 737.7 million or with a share of 20.0%, and the remaining KM 21.7 million or 0.6% is related to brokerage companies and stock exchanges in BH.Unfavorable economic trends, caused by the economic crisis, as well as the status changes of the institutions in the OFI sector, led to the decrease in this sector by 34% compared to 2008. In the first half of 2013, only the insurance companies recorded an increase in assets by KM 46.1 million or by 6.2%, while the leasing companies recorded the decline of KM 54.9 million or by 6.2%, the investment funds had the decline of KM 18.7 million or 2.3%, microcredit organizations decreased by KM 7.9 million or 1%, and the assets of the brokerage firms and stock exchanges remained at approximately the same level as at the end of 2012.The statistics of the sector of Other Financial Institutions (OFI), compiled and published by the CBBH, produces harmonized data on the state and the structure of assets and liabilities of the institutional units of the OFI sector for the level of BH on a half year basis, in accordance to the IMF methodology. Proven quality of the OFI sector statistics has provided a place for Bosnia and Herzegovina, together with other 40 member countries, in the IMF annual publication "International Financial Statistics", since 2011. At the end of June 2013, 103 OFI sector institutions were included in regular statistics published by the CBBH.Public Relations Section
