CBBH Governor attending the tenth meeting of the regional Central Banks Governors

Governor of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina Senad Softić, Ph.D. participated in the jubilee 10th meeting of the Regional Central Bank Governors, which was held on May 5 and 6, 2022 in Rovinj.

The topics of this year's meeting are inflation and monetary policy, uncertainty and the financial sector in the context of Russia's presence in the banking sector, as well as economic recovery in the light of the conflict in Ukraine and sanctions against Russia.

On this occasion, the importance of financial stability for the Region, but also for each country was emphasized again. This is best illustrated by the selection as the keynote speaker Mr. Klaus Regling, Director of the European Stability Mechanism, the umbrella institution in the euro zone, tasked with maintaining long-term financial stability and prosperity.

Governor Softić emphasized that the currency board in BH is crucial for the overall financial, economic and even social stability. Cooperation with responsible institutions has shown that issues, when they arise, can be solved with the quality inter-institutional cooperation.

Along with the Governor of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the meeting of the Governors of the Region was attended by the Governors of the Central/National Banks of Croatia, Slovenia, Northern Macedonia and Montenegro.

These meetings are traditionally held every year in the organization of the weekly business magazine "Leader", with the aim of improving cooperation between financial institutions in the Region and exchanging experiences in combating and mitigating the consequences of financial and economic crises.
