Washington: Governor Selimović attends the IMF and the WB Annual Meetings 10/25/2024 Tweet The Governor of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH), Jasmina Selimović Ph.D., is in Washington, where, as a member of BH delegation, she attends the Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB) as well as bilateral meetings with senior officials of these financial institutions. On this occasion, Governor Selimović has met with senior officials of the IMF. The Governor has presented the activities and achievements of the CBBH, and discussed the current macroeconomic trends and expectations in the period ahead. The CBBH, as Governor said, will continue to work actively on keeping monetary stability and contributing to financial stability and economic prosperity of BH, in accordance with its mandate, through continuous cooperation with the IMF, the World Bank and other international partners. As a speaker, the Governor will present her view of the economic prospects and challenges for Europe and Bosnia and Herzegovina at the meeting of the IMF officials with governors and finance ministers of Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe countries and she has also attended a meeting of the Dutch-Belgian Constituency which Bosnia and Herzegovina belongs to. During the meeting with the World Bank officials, key activities and challenges which Bosnia and Herzegovina financial sector is facing, particularly in the context of the priorities defined by the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans, have been discussed It is of key importance, also, the meeting between Governor Selimović and Jorge Familiar, Director of the Financial Department and Vice-President of the WB, who leads the Reserve Advisory & Management Partnership program (RAMP), which was joined by the CBBH in April this year, with the aim of improving the management of foreign exchange reserves. By joining the RAMP, which officially started at the end of September, the CBBH uses consulting, training and asset management services, joining a large global network of over 70 public institutions for asset management. At the meeting, the importance of membership in such a project was emphasized, along with the proactive role of the CBBH. As part of the project to improve the payment systems of the region, which refers to the Single Payment in the Euro Area (SEPA) and instant payments (TIPS), and on which close cooperation was achieved with the WB and the EU, the Governor, together with the Governors of the regional Central Banks, held a meeting with officials of the Bank of Italy, which provides support for this project. She will also attend the Annual International Banking Seminar within the G30, one of the most important events in the field of global economy and finance, attended by representatives of central banks, ministers of finance, representatives of international organizations and leading economic experts to discuss key issues of the global economy.
